How a lawn care company found 4 months of lost leads — and caught its first new customer within hours of the fix

Work by Principium Axis

The problem nobody could see

Hazen Lawn Care had a professional website with a contact form and “Schedule a Free Estimate” buttons. It looked perfect. It was silently throwing away every lead:

  • The contact form did nothing when submitted. A subtle bug (a duplicated HTML element ID, present since launch) meant clicking “Send” produced no message, no error, and no email — for roughly four months. Customers assumed it worked. It never did.
  • The estimate buttons routed to a booking calendar that was never configured — customers picked “book online,” hit a dead end, and called a competitor.

No error logs. No alerts. The owner only knew “the website doesn’t seem to bring in much work.” For a service business where one recurring customer is worth $1,000+ per year, months of silent lead loss adds up to five figures of lost lifetime value.

The fix: a new site and a lead pipeline that can’t forget

Instead of patching the form and hoping, we took the entire site off WordPress and built a completely new, modern experience — fast, secure by default, and free of plugin maintenance. Then we rebuilt lead handling end to end — on infrastructure the business owns, not more monthly subscriptions:

  1. Capture — a repaired, hardened quote form (with service address, so every lead arrives estimate-ready)
  2. Alert — every submission instantly posts a lead card to the team’s chat, with one-click buttons: Claim → Meeting booked → Quote sent → Won
  3. Record — the lead is simultaneously saved to the company’s own CRM; the buttons keep chat and CRM in sync with zero data entry
  4. Respond — the customer gets a “we received your request” email within seconds, so they don’t call the next company in the search results
  5. Measure — every Monday at 7 AM, an automatic report: how many leads came in, trend vs. last week, and where each one stands

Results

  • First real customer lead captured within hours of go-live
  • Entire site moved off WordPress and rebuilt as a fast, modern experience — no more plugin updates, patching, or surprise breakage
  • Every web lead now produces a team alert, a CRM record, and an instant customer reply — nothing depends on someone remembering to check an inbox
  • Runs on a $3/month server the business controls — replacing roughly $300–800/month of typical SaaS subscriptions
  • Zero open ports; enterprise-style security (Cloudflare Tunnel + Zero Trust) on a small-business budget
  • Fully documented and handed over — the business isn't locked in to anyone, including us

My website looked fine for months while it quietly threw away every lead. Principium Axis found it, fixed it, and built a system where a lead literally cannot fall through the cracks — the first one came in the same day. I check one channel on my phone and tap one button. That's the whole workflow now.

Is your website doing the same thing to you?

Most home-service websites leak leads somewhere — a form that fails on phones, a booking link nobody monitors, an inbox no one owns. It’s invisible until someone tests it end to end.

Lead Leak Audit — $500, credited toward any build. We test every path a customer can take on your site, show you exactly where leads die, and what it would take to fix. If we can’t find a leak or meaningful software savings, it’s free.
